Atwood Elementary School has 725 students enrolled for the 2006-2007 school year. On May 1, 2005, our new school was dedicated. Our beautiful two-story building is located on North Avenue near Hall Road. Atwood Elementary School contains 25 classrooms, an art room, music room, gym and cafeteria. It also has state-of-the-art technology resources for all students. Each classroom has a unique computer lab with an additional classroom size computer lab housed in the library.
The library is the focal point of the school. Atwood Elementary School is a special school where the entire staff is highly qualified and committed to providing each student with the best education possible. We have high expectations for our students. It is our goal that as students grow academically, and move on, they will be prepared to meet the challenges of middle school, high school and beyond.
All students are expected to do their best, be respectful and responsible and kind towards others. Each day all students are expected to be courteous, honest and have pride in their work. We want them to have fun and be successful, as well as challenged, every day.
Parents are always encouraged to work with us and develop a strong positive relationship that will in turn support their child’s learning. By working together, it will help to bring about a successful, rewarding experience for your child.
