After carefully re-evaluating our goals this fall using our Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) and Michigan Literacy Progress Profile (MLPP) scores, we decided to continue our science goal and focus on improving our students’ writing in all grades.

All of our professional development this year was used for these goals. While writing constructive responses for our writing goal, students also improved their knowledge of science facts.

Students will improve their MEAP writing scores. Students will also be able to answer constructed response questions using a rubric. They will develop skills to write narration from a given topic following a given rubric. Students will improve their knowledge of science using constructed response strategies.
