Being able to choose L’Anse Creuse Public Schools for my daughters has been a wonderful experience. The attention and support that they receive from the staff is so great and my daughters have school so much, I don’t think they would have been t his happy in our current district. I’m truly happy and thankful we have been able to have this opportunity to be here.

We began investigating options to our home school district in 2003, prior to enrolling our oldest in preschool. At that time, L’Anse Creuse did not participate in the school of choice program. I was delighted to hear that had changed in 2004. The process for enrolling our children in the L’Anse Creuse district was simple, as the district provided clear instructions and step-by-step assistance.

We had discussed concerns about the quality of our home district with my uncle, a former superintendent of schools in the area. He strongly encouraged me toward the L’Anse Creuse district, saying that L’Anse Creuse had a long history of offering high quality education and a reputation as a district with happy teachers and administrators. He let me know that a happy staff leads to happy, well educated kids. Our family has experienced the accuracy of that statement firsthand. We have found a warm, caring environment with Carkenord. That mood fosters a safe, comfortable environment where kids can focus on learning, casting aside worries and fears.

Things we love about Carkenord: the teachers-from homeroom to music, art, physical education and learning support staff - you’ve got some great folks there; gotchas-we love that the kids can get "caught" doing something right; the "no bully zone" - works; we’ve experienced that firsthand, too, and the positive outcome was a pleasant surprise; the ladies in the front office-second to none; Mrs. O’Hara-"We just try to be ‘mom’ away from ‘mom’ as much as possible," - if that’s not a quotable quote, I don’t know what is.

We are tickled by our experience. We are pleased and look forward to watching all three of our children grow in the L’Anse Creuse district. Thank you!

I am happy with choosing Carkenord Elementary for our son, John. My main concern is safety, and I feel Carkenord is a very safe school. John has been at Carkenord for three years now, and he loves it. The staff at the school is always very helpful with any questions or concerns I might have. If a problem does come up, I feel it is handled properly and swiftly. My son is in a split class, and I think it is very beneficial. I have nothing to say but positive things about Carkenord, and I am very happy our son attends this school.
