Marie C. Graham Elementary School has 433 students enrolled for the 2007-2008 school year.
At Graham, students participate in a wide variety of educational experiences that follow the Michigan Curriculum Framework. Our classrooms utilize a balanced literacy instructional model for language arts. Students are assessed in their reading and comprehension skills in an on-going manner and receive direct instruction at their level.
Writer’s Workshop teaches students the steps of the writing process from developing a topic to drafting, revising, editing and publishing.
The Everyday Mathematics Program challenges students to apply both computation and problem solving skills, and our science and social studies curriculums are also integrated into the school day and offer students many hands-on opportunities.
Graham students also receive physical education, art, music and Spanish classes weekly.
Our Media Specialist offers instruction in library media curriculum and technology instruction. We have a full-time Learning Support Specialist and a Social Worker on staff to assist students and staff. In the spring of 2008,
Graham will begin construction to add a new gymnasium to the school, along with a new music classroom. We will be remodeling two existing classrooms to offer a K-5 Cognitively Impaired Program.
