L’Anse Creuse Middle School - East has 781 students enrolled for the 2007-2008 school year.  It opened its doors on August 28, 2000. Middle School - East is a state-of-the-art facility, which allows the staff, students, and community to experience a variety of learning experiences and activities. In March 2002, Middle School - East hosted the Michigan Association of Middle School Educators (MAMSE) State Conference.

Over the past few years, Middle School - East has experienced many wonderful moments, including:  steadily rising Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) scores, Grade A on Ed.Yes report card, undefeated athletic teams, excellent parent participation rates, and is continually a show place for other districts planning to build a new middle school facility.
