Volunteer Opportunities
The South River staff offers numerous options for becoming an active participant in every child’s education, both social and academic.
Parent Involvement
The South River staff encourages parents to be nvolved in their child’s educational experience every day through support and volunteering. In addition, the South River staff presented avyear-long series of seminars titled Parenting With Love and Logic, based on the work of authors Dr. Jim Fay and Foster Kline. The program was well received by both parents and teachers.
Parent Reading Night was another event offered. Parents were introduced to books and resources on how to encourage literacy growth. The parents were also given hands-on activities and ideas on how to promote literacy at home. Parent Reading Night has become a favorite yearly event.
