Yacks Elementary School students will learn Grade Level Content Expectations and social skills in a challenging and positive environment. All students will be evaluated through district, state and individual teacher ongoing assessment.

Improvement Plan

This is our fourth year of adopting a Professional Learning Community (PLC) philosophy as part of our school improvement plan. We developed school-wide goals in the area of English Language Arts, focusing on writing and reading.

Goals

1. Students will be proficient in writing as determined by rubrics. Ongoing assessments will direct instruction as well as monitor achievement.

2. Students will be proficient in reading as determined by grade level expectations. Ongoing assessments will direct instruction as well as monitor achievement.

Staffing

L’Anse Creuse is proud that it employs staff that is nurturing with a genuine desire to see students achieve their highest potential. All teaching staff meet highly qualified standards as set forth by the No Child Left Behind federal legislation. In addition, Donald J. Yacks Elementary School employs:
