Q: Why should I enroll my child in L’Anse Creuse Public Schools?
A: There are several reasons why parents choose L’Anse Creuse. In addition to our exceptional academic standards that have resulted in numerous educational excellence awards, students entering LCPS have greater choice as they progress through their education. Programs such as the Math/Science/Technology Center, Performing Arts Consortium, career and technical education courses, summer school and other non-traditional programs are unique assets not found in our neighboring districts. These offerings provide students with a richer learning experience that prepares them for our technology enriched society.

Perhaps the greatest asset to LCPS is our relationship with the community. Parents and community are considered valuable partners and strong contributors to the overall mission of our district.

Q: What type of curriculum program is offered at L’Anse Creuse?
A: Best Practice based programming is utilized to meet or exceed state and national standards. Programs are designed to meet the individual and unique needs of students and provide meaningful learning experiences to enable every child to develop his or her potential. Q: How can I find out more about the school I would like to enroll my child in?
A: Visit our Web site at: Choose.lc-ps.org. Each building is listed. In addition, our annual report is available on-line.
On-site tours can be scheduled at each of our buildings for prospective students and their families.

Q: Is childcare offered at the
elementary buildings?
A: School-Age Child Care (SACC) is available
at all of our elementary buildings before and
after school for a fee. Childcare is extended on
half days. For more information, contact the

Q: Which students are eligible for
Schools of Choice ?
A: Macomb County residents in kindergarten through seventh-grade are eligible. Siblings of K-7 students who will be in eighth- through 12th grades will be given preference based on available space. Students in grade 8 through 12 will also be eligible under a limited Schools of Choice enrollment period, based
on available space.

Q: Can the parent/guardian select the school they would like their child to attend?
A: Parents may select up to three choices on the application (excluding Atwood Elementary School.) Every attempt to accommodate the choice will be made, but the final decision will be based on availability.

Q: How can I get an application?
A: By visiting our Web site at: Registration visiting the Personnel Office, the Office of School and Community Relations or through any of our school buildings in January.

Q: How are students selected?
A: We accept students on space availability
through May 30.

Q: How long can students stay in L’Anse Creuse Public Schools?
A: Once accepted, a student may remain until graduation.

Q: Is there any cost to enroll in LCPS?
A: Residents of Macomb County are eligible to
attend LCPS for FREE.

Q: Will transportation be provided for my student through Schools of Choice?
A: No, transportation is the responsibility
of the parent/guardian of the child(ren)
enrolling under Schools of Choice.
